Grammar Note

to omoimasu "I think", "I suppose"

To omoimasu is one of the functional patterns and it can be translated into "I think", "I suppose", "I believe" or "I guess". This pattern expresses the speaker's conjecture or prospect. This is often used to express one's opinion or judgment moderately.
This pattern follows the plain form of the verbs, i-adjectives and desu with a noun or na-adjectives.

See "Essential Japanese Verbs" about the Verb Plain Form

Kara & node "so", "therefore" or "because"

As introduced in Basic 2 Lesson 1, the particle kara indicates a reason or a cause.
There is a similar pattern, node. Node is more polite or sounds softer than kara.
Both kara and node can follow not only desu and masu, but also the plain form.

While kara becomes da kara with the root form of desu or na-adjective,
node becomes na node.

Verb Stem + ni ikimasu "to go to do"
